Vision

Identity sovereignty for everyone.

Protecting your own identity. That is where we are heading. Today we are working on the first part of the way: organisations holding authority over their identities. Later, services are to follow that let every person protect their own identities.

StatusThis page describes a direction, not a finished product. What already runs is listed further down with its measured maturity.

Why identity

The thread everything hangs on.

Who signs in, who may do what, who approves: every digital action hangs on an identity. On the loom, it is the warp thread. As long as it stays taut and in your own hands, the cloth comes out the way you want it.

If someone else holds the thread, they have a say: who gets in, which rules apply, what can be changed. Digital self-determination therefore starts with a simple question: who holds my thread?

The way

Organisations first. Then everyone.

We give the order, not a date. The second step is vision: nothing has been built for it yet.

  1. Today: organisations

    In progress

Authority over identities, access and sign-in lies with the organisation, not with a vendor, and not with us either. That is what Warpbeam works on today: every identity in one place, time-limited access, strong sign-in and detecting attacks on identities. The pages Identity sovereignty and Why Warpbeam? show what that looks like.

  2. Later: every person

    Vision

Every individual has many digital identities too: accounts with services, sign-ins, access. On the loom, these are many loose threads, scattered and often forgotten. They belong ordered and taut to the person they belong to. Later, Warpbeam wants to help consumers as well: an overview of who holds what about you, closing orphaned accounts, securing access. That is a later step.

Status

What runs today.

The first step, measured against the code on 23 September 2026. The full overview is on the roadmap. Nothing has been built for consumers yet.

Boundaries

What this is not.

Not a state register
Warpbeam is not an ID card and not an authority. Which services someone uses is their own decision.
Not a collection point
We do not want to gather identities with us. The threads stay with those they belong to: with the organisation in its own operation, with the person in their own hands.
Open standards
Sign-in and account reconciliation run over widely used open protocols. Every way in comes with a way out.
Not a digital wallet
We do not replace credentials from a digital wallet; they could serve as evidence later. The distinction is explained on the Identity sovereignty page.
Independent, for everyone
Independent means: no outside vendor is a prerequisite, Warpbeam delivers every task with its own engine. For everyone means: organisations today, every person later – built around German and European law.
